I have been working in public education since October 1995, and have been a Mepham faculty member since September 2004. I have a B.A. in History from New York University, an MA in History from Brooklyn College, and an MBA in International Business from Baruch College.
I am passionate about American history, economics and promoting financial literacy. My lessons seek to challenge students to become active learners and to engage student intellect. As a teacher, my goal is to stimulate greater student understanding and appreciation for the subject matter at hand, and to further develop the academic skills necessary for success in higher education.
I have a multitude of interests outside the classroom. I enjoy traveling, reading, and cooking. I am a fitness freak and lover of all kinds of music -especially hard rock and heavy metal! I am also an avid MLB and NHL fan (Go NY Yankees! Go NY Rangers!). I reside in Brooklyn with my wife and two young children.
There is nothing more important to me as a teacher than student success. If you are committed to doing as well as you can, I will “move mountains” to help you succeed. That said, I firmly believe that talk is cheap and that actions speak louder than words (see the Alice Paul image on the picture gallery). If you are willing to put in the time and effort, you will have a gratifying learning experience in my class.
